Kiran Kumar Bingi is a Computer Science Engineer with an undergraduate degree from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. He has served many Government agencies before moving to National Institute of Urban Management (NIUM). He worked for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) as a Data Processing Officer (DPO) later he moved to the Andhra Pradesh Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APUFIDC), Hyderabad, where he remained till 2013.

At NIUM, Kiran Kumar has been a part of the establishment and development of the Institute and its activities, from the very beginning. Apart from undertaking administrative functions, he has assisted the Knowledge Management team for its research and training activities in the Government of India funded Comprehensive Capacity Building Programme (CCBP) and the World Bank funded Telangana Municipal Development Project (TMDP). Recognising his contributions to the research at NIUM.

He is currently working on research studies related to improvement of Tax Revenues in GHMC and other Urban Local Bodies in Telangana.
